During May holidays a group of HQ coaches travelled to Cape Town, South Africa to hook up with the leaders in Five-aside Football in South Africa – Fives Futbol.

HQ were involved in providing Fives academy players an opportunity to receive sessions from UK coaches. Sessions were of high speed and quality and the players engaged and reacted extremely well.

This is just the start of an interesting partnership between the organisations that are so passionate about football and its development with children and young people.

HQ were also involved in a fun crossbar challenge competition that had both children and parents competing at the clinics in Fives largest facility at Century City, Cape Town.

Fives Technical Director Chris Martins said “I would like to personally thank HQ’s team of coaches that helped us on the coaching side, with running some sessions at our Sunning dale Fives Futbol facility.”

“It was fantastic to see how your team operate in a professional and fun manner with the kids. I can confirm the kids couldn’t stop mentioning to me and my Fives team about how much fun they had and when can you guys come coach them again.”

“Feedback from the parents was very exciting to, they were totally impressed with the technical aspect and how fun you guys managed to keep it. They have also asked when Fives and Your team will be able to Synchronize up in the future.”

“Myself and the entire soccer schools team we would like to say thank you once again for all your support and professionalism with helping us conduct some of our training sessions. We look forward to linking up with you and your team again Matt in the near future.”

HQ Sports Director Matthew Houghton had similar thoughts “It was great to see the sessions in action at an excellent facility. The children were keen to impress but at the same time eager to learn, they had a great connection with our coaches.

“Looking to the future there will be further events announced during the summer as we look to build relationships with Fives Futbol as they are one of the leaders in football development across South Africa. Watch this space.”
