HQ Coaching and Involve Northwest are working in partnership to offer young people the chance to shine infront of hundreds of followers across Wirral on the decks or CDJ mixers. 

Battle of the DJ’s is a DJ Competition for young people across Wirral aged 13 – 19 years.  Each young person will have a 15-minute slot to deliver their DJ mix that will take place at local youth clubs across Wirral. On the night DJ’s will be assessed on their DJ Mixing and techniques as well as how they will generate atmosphere within the youth club. At each competition two young DJ’s will go through to a final stage where one young DJ will be announced the winner. 

The winner of the event will receive the opportunity to record their mixes at Radio City FM and will also receive a cash prize of £250. All runners up will receive a Radio City Tour plus vinyl and CD’s of the latest house music. 

Aims of the DJ Competition Project are:

• Establish a competition for young people in Wirral who enjoy mixing and recording dance music
• Generate interest in young people in local communities through Music

• Give young people the opportunity to promote their DJ nights through their friends, family and local community
• To offer DJ Workshops in smaller youth clubs that have not had access to DJ Workshops already
• Give young people the chance to understand how to record and edit their own music
• Allow older age DJ’s to work with younger less experienced DJ’s to enable them to pass on their skills

• Weekly DJ workshops in all youth clubs across Wirral, giving young people the opportunity to learn the basics
• To offer employment training programmes for NEET young people in music

All DJ’s must pay £2.50 entry fee to join the competition. (Click the links below to book a place)

DJ’s can choose what equipment they would like to use eg decks or CD Mixers.
