ATHLETICS

The countdown to the LONDON OLYMPICS 2012 has begun, WASP (Wirral Athletics Sports Programme) and HQ Coaching are providing the youth of Wirral with an exciting programme of courses across Wirral. Starting in January is Pensby and West Kirby Athletics. both courses are for children aged 4-11 and FREE to participate.

WEST KIRBY Tuesdays from 28th Feb, 4-5pm at West Kirby residential school, Meols Drive
PENSBY Fridays from 2^nd Mar, 4-5pm at Pensby Sports Complex

WIRRAL SCHOOLS DJ COMPETITION

Battle of the DJ’s for young people across Wirral will be kicking off next month. Each young DJ will have a 15 minute slot to deliver their DJ mix in one of the local youth club heats. On the night DJs will be assessed on their DJ mixing and techniques as well as how they generate atmosphere. Two DJ from each heat will go on to battle in the final, where they have the opportunity to win the prize of £250, and the exclusive prize of recording their mix at Radio City FM studios.

Entries must be in by 29^th Feb and cost £2.50 per DJ

WOMEN ONLY FITNESS

 HYPE-Merseyside are running women only fitness sessions offering services in Fitness assessments, weight loss, training plans, access to equipment, Nutrition and Health advice have started in Courtney Park Community House. Sessions are 9.30am-11.30am FRIDAY mornings. First 6 weeks are FREE, call 07719171833 to register.

SCHOOLS

Our first inter school dance festival for West Lancs took place in Feb, a great night was had by all. Families, friends and teachers came to support the participating schools as the demonstrated the skills they have learnt during the HQ Streetdance afterschool club. The confident performances and enjoyment by all the children gave us a great show to remember. The video and pictures will be on the website and Facebook shortly.

If your school would like to participate in inter-school afterschool clubs in dance and other sports please contact the office.

 ATHLETICS AT SCHOOL

HQ Olympics Projects are now available to book for your school. We are offering a range of projects for schools running up to the London Olympics 2012. From two day events to complete Olympic courses we have something to engage your pupils in participating and enjoying athletics. Contact the office for more details on Athletics for schools

SMOKE FREE HOMES

HQ continue to work with communities and the families of the young people to reduce the effects of smoking in the home with the 7 steps programme.

Smoking and your pets! HQ coaching will be raising awareness about the effects of second hand smoke on your pets, you will be able to get information from our website, Facebook page or from Pet Shops and Vets in your area.
