Functional Training

The new era of training. More and more these days people are realising that going to the gym, doing bicep curls and tricep extensions etc might look good but doesn’t actually help with anything else. Functional training is all about full body training that imitates movements made in everyday activities of living. The benefit of this type of training is that makes activities of daily living a lot easier, whether it be the movements you create with your body at work, or playing with the kids, not to mention the amount of calories used with each movement! The more muscles used basically equates to the more calories burned, so if you’re using a lot of muscles as opposed to one group, i.e. bicep curl, then of course you are going to use more calories! Our personal trainer integrates this training into all sessions, realising the benefits and the increased demand for this method of training it would have been stupid not to!
