HOLLYOAKS CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH
Date: 14th March 2010
Time: 2.00pm KO
Where: Heswall FC
HQ Coaching V Hollyoaks
Cheshire county sports club was the stage for a charity match between HQ Coaching and the popular TV show Hollyoaks. This event was a charity match with all the proceeds from the day going towards ‘HUGS’ a registered charity that works with under privileged school children in Uganda. The event was very well supported and the day as a whole was a huge success.
The team captain for HQ Coaching Matthew Houghton arranged and organised the day’s events, he also contributed alot in the game resulting in him scoring two goals, helping HQ to succeed in the 6-1 success over Hollyoaks. Other scorers on the day included a brace from Nathan Mapletoft, Alex Bannon with a bullet like header and Mike Wilde with a nicely taken shot. Although the score line reflects a very one sided game, Hollyoaks did have there chances throughout but were denied by some very good goalkeeper from Josh Collins who stood firm throughout.
The game itself was played with very good spirits with both teams battling for the 90 minutes. The Hollyoaks players were very well supportive of the event, and also offered photographs and the signing of autographs for large numbers of fans supporting the event.
HQ Coaching would like to thank everyone who contributed throughout the day.
Chester Chronicle
Hollyoaks V The HQ Coaching Centre
Actors from C4 Chester Soap Hollyoak’s are taking part in a Charity football match against football coaches from The HQ Coaching Centre. The match is being played at Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton on 18thApril, Kick Off 2.00pm.
It is the fourth time in as many years this fixture has been played but the first time it’s been played in Chester. Hollyoaks are yet to win although last year was close as it went to penalties. The money is being raised for HUGS (Helping Uganda Schools) some of the football coaches who are playing will be travelling with the charity later this year to help dis-advantaged school children in Uganda.
We would advise you to get there early as last years match attracted over 800 spectators, it may have been because the Hollyoaks actors posed for photographs after the match.
