Loading... Please wait...If you’re a sports player, it is vital you train specific to your sport to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury. For example how much of a good idea for football players to be doing bicep curls when they are in the gym? Not very. Sports specific training involves mimicking movements that are produced on the field of play, isolations and typical body building exercises can do more harm than good when taking part in sport. Typical areas covered in sports specific training involve speed, agility, endurance, and power exercises, with the aim of turning the player into an out and out machine in the sport. Its all very good having big muscles and posing in front of a mirror, but if you cant apply that to every day movements or sporting situations then whats the point? Functional muscle is the key, not mirror muscles!
